Career
Nyra Banerjee started her career as a model and appeared on the cover of various magazines like Tulip. She was spotted by noted director G. V. Iyer who signed her on for the Hindi television serial Kadambari in 2009. She played the role of Sherry opposite Rishi Kapoor’s character Rajat.
She then made her feature film debut with director Srinivasa Murthy Nidadavole’s Telugu comedy film Aa Okkadu (2009) which was a moderate success at the box office. She then went on to act in several successful Telugu films including Vamsi’s Saradaga Kasepu (2010), Nandini Reddy’s Nuvvu Nenu (2011), Gopichand Malineni’s Aa Oka Laila Kosam (2012) and Srinivasa Murthy Nidadavole’s Temper (2013).
She also worked in Hindi film One Night Stand (2012) opposite Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra.
She made her Tamil debut with director Sathish Sooryan’s Aambala (2015) where she played the role of Anjali opposite Vijay Sethupathi’s character Arun.
