DMCA Takedown Policy

Last updated: October 2026

WikiBioStar (wikibiostar.com) respects the intellectual property rights of photographers, artists, creators, and other rights holders, and we expect our contributors and visitors to do the same. We respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable copyright laws.

Our Commitment

  • We aim to publish only original, licensed, public-domain, or permission-based images and content.
  • If you believe any content on this website infringes your copyright, please tell us and we will investigate and act promptly.
  • We may remove or disable access to content that is reported to be infringing, without prior notice to the publisher of that content.

How to Submit a Copyright Infringement Notice

Please email your notice to:

Email: [email protected]
Subject line: DMCA Takedown Request

To be valid, your notice should include the following:

  1. Your contact information: your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (for example, a link to the original photo or a description of it).
  3. Identification of the infringing material: the exact URL(s) of the page(s) on wikibiostar.com where the content appears, so that we can locate it.
  4. A statement of good faith: “I have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
  5. A statement of accuracy and authority: “The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or am authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.”
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is acceptable).

Incomplete notices may delay our response.

What Happens After We Receive a Notice

  • We will review your notice, normally within 48 to 72 hours.
  • If the notice is valid, we will remove or disable access to the content in question.
  • We may notify the person responsible for the content that it has been removed and provide a copy of the notice.

Counter-Notification

If you believe content was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.” It must include:

  1. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the removed material and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the court for your district (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which the website operator may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may forward it to the original complainant. If the complainant does not notify us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement, we may restore the material.

Repeat Infringer Policy

In appropriate circumstances, we will terminate the access of contributors or users who are repeat infringers of copyright.

Misrepresentation Warning

Under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees. Please make sure your claim is valid before submitting a notice.
