Early Life and Background

As per the sources, Akhil was born on 8 December 1993 in Kodoli, Maharashtra, but his family later settled in Thrissur, Kerala. He grew up in a modest household where values of hard work and resilience were taught early. His father, Chencherivalappil Vishwanathan, worked as an autorickshaw driver, while his mother, Geetha, was employed as a government staff member at Vyapara Bhavan under KVVES.

From a young age, Akhil showed interest in acting and storytelling. He was known among his friends and teachers for his lively personality and ability to perform in school plays. His childhood was not luxurious, but it was filled with dreams. Thrissur, his hometown, played a big role in shaping his identity, as the city is known for its cultural richness and love for the arts.

Family Details

Akhil came from a close-knit family. His father, Vishwanathan, was the main breadwinner until an accident in September 2025 left him bedridden. This incident added financial strain to the household. His mother, Geetha, continued to work at Vyapara Bhavan to support the family.

Akhil’s elder brother, Arun Vishwanath, also shared his love for acting. Both brothers acted together in Mangandi in 2009, which won them the State Government Award for Best Child Artist. Arun remained supportive of Akhil throughout his journey. The family’s struggles, however, weighed heavily on Akhil, especially in the months before his death.

Education and Academic Journey

Akhil studied at Sree Krishna High School in Mattathur, Kerala. He was an average student academically but always leaned towards creative activities. His teachers often noticed his talent in drama and encouraged him to take part in cultural events.

Entry into Acting Career

Akhil’s journey into films began very early. In 2009, he made his debut in a short telefilm titled Mangandi. This project was special because he acted alongside his brother, Arun Vishwanath. The success of Mangandi opened doors for him, but the road ahead was not easy. As a teenager, Akhil continued to audition for roles, hoping to find a place in the Malayalam film industry. Akhil’s breakthrough came in 2019 with the film Chola. He played the role of Janaki’s lover, a character that demanded emotional depth.
